About us.
Gary’s Nursery, LLC, Since 1975.
We started growing cold hardy palms from seed 40 years ago. We sell wholesale to contractors and other nurseries as well as retail to the public on site, and on eBay.
All the palms we sell are grown from seed right here at our nursery in New Bern, NC and the mature specimen examples we show on eBay, our website and Facebook are ones we grew from seed and planted on our property or are photos of palms we have sold or have given to other folks at other locations.
We prefer to sell only palms that we grow that we have long term experience with here in zone 8 Eastern, NC. We encourage you to get to know your local nurseries, farmers and local horticulturalist to get an idea of your climate as far as low temperatures go. Many palms, even here in Eastern, NC, may require some form of Winter protection when young and /or first planted.
All through the years we have mainly sold our retail palms on site. At one time some years ago, we did do mail order. We constantly have customers driving long distances to purchase palms and have been asked to start making them available once again by shipping them through eBay this time.
We prefer to sell only palms that are mostly rooted out in their rigid nursery containers we grow them in. Some folks use grow bags which are just as good and may save a little on shipping by being able to pack more in a box.
